HAVE FUN WHILE BEING HEALTHY!

His & Her Fitness Trainers lead by example and are living proof that you can have still have good, clean healthy fun!

Every week we hear from our clients ''It was the weekend, I had to have a drink'' or ''I just had a few beers this weekend.'' These are not acceptable excuses, and here's why: not only does this poisonous sugar shut down our metabolism, it also kills the liver, which is responsible for protein synthesis and helps to build muscle. You've worked out so hard during the week, why would you sabotage yourself over a few lousy drinks?

It is up to us to lead by example. We will show you just how easy it is to have fun on the weekend without ruining your long week of hard work. A few weeks ago we (Christina, Hollyn, and Jonathon) enjoyed delicious lean grilled meats (cooked, of course, by the guys) and beautiful, crisp salads (prepared by the girls). We enjoyed and amazing dinner in the company of great friends. After cleaning up, we headed to the Legends for a few of rounds of bowling. It was tough competition throughout the evening and we had a blast. We kept hydrated drinking our cocktail of choice, water with lemon!

We are proof that you can go out and have a great time without hurting your metabolism!

If you don't want to grill at home and are looking for a healthy options for dining out, we've put together a list of our favorite restaurants and His & Her Fitness approved selections.

At the Cheesecake Factory, Hollyn loves the Chicken tortilla salad. However, it's critical you make a few small changes, 86 the cheese and tortilla strips and ask for the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side.

True to his Hispanic roots, Jonathon chose Los Tules. He knows you will enjoy the Chicken Fajitas with peppers, cilantro, lemon & lime. The flavors will create a fiesta in your mouth, so there's no reason to cut the flavor with flour tortillas.

We headed to the Outback, Outback Steakhouse that is. They recommend ordering the Outback Special with steamed veggies and house salad with fat free Italian dressing. Good day, mate!

Like any good midwesterner, we chose Ted's Montana Grill at 135th & Nall. They say you can't go wrong with the Naked Bison Burger with steamed veggies. Don't forget to tell the waitress to keep the bun in the kitchen.

Christina loves dining at Reverse on the Plaza. You may find her there on a Sunday afternoon with her dog, enjoying the Ahi Tuna with Greek salad, just ask them to substitute spinach for the lettuce.
